Your Third Lane

In Lane Three, faculty members have access to support in gaining experience with scholarly dissemination. The Institute subscribes to the Carnegie Foundation’s framework for scholarship, which includes discovery, application, and teaching and learning. Each year faculty leaders invite colleagues to join in the development and dissemination of a scholarly product.

Peer Review of Teaching

A service coordinated by the Office of the Provost matches together instructors across disciplines and expertise to observe and provide feedback on classroom instruction.

This voluntary and confidential service can provide formative evaluation as part of continual improvement in teaching. The key element of the peer review process is establishing an area of growth and one or more “focus questions” relevant to that area the observer can focus on during the classroom observation session.
