I was deeply honored and privileged to assume the role of Dean at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences this August. The past year has been truly remarkable, marked by numerous achievements. We proudly welcomed our inaugural class of Audiology students, secured over $6 million in grant funding, and remained steadfast in our commitment to serving the community through pro bono clinical services and service activities.
I am consistently impressed by the cutting-edge curricula our students engage in: from team-based learning approaches to simulation experiences and integrated clinical experiences. These methodologies reflect our commitment to providing a dynamic and comprehensive educational experience.
Our faculty within SHRS are leaders in their respective fields, fostering innovation in education and making significant strides in research that directly impact the lives of those we aim to serve. The faculty and staff are dedicated professionals who support our students through joyous and challenging times to reach their goals of becoming healthcare professionals.
I am proud to be a part of such a talented, empathic team of faculty, staff, and students. I look forward to what we will accomplish next year. Together we will continue to make strides towards creating better health outcomes for all.
Sincerely,
Laura Plummer, PT, DPT, EdD, NCS Dean and Associate Professor, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences
