Occupational Therapy Faculty and Alums Present at the World Federation of Occupational Therapy Congress in Paris
Faculty and alumni from the Department of Occupational Therapy presented their scholarship at the 18th World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT) Congress in Paris, France between August 28-31, 2022. WFOT is the international voice for occupational therapy and is a global network of 105 member organizations representing 580,000 occupational therapists. Keynote speakers spoke on broad justice issues such as climate change, that affect people’s ability to engage in meaningful occupations.
Professor Dr. Diane Smith presented on food insecurity and emergency preparedness for people with disabilities. Associate Professor Dr. Sarah McKinnon presented on implementing strategies to address JEDI principles and interprofessional educational curriculum implementation. Professor Dr. Susan Fasoli co-presented on using the Interprofessional Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS) to facilitate clinical reasoning.
MGH IHP Alum Loren (Fields) McMahon (2017) presented on public augmentative and alternative communication access technology resources for occupational therapy, and Alum Nicole Bartlebaugh (2019) presented on Prevalence of Cognitive Impairment Among Adults with Low Vision Receiving Home Health Services.
