Marjorie K. Ionta PT Center for Clinical Education and Health Promotion

As we all continue to face this challenging time, faculty, staff, and students at the Marjorie K. Ionta PT Center are thinking of you and wishing you well. We continue to keep the safety and well-being of our clients, students, employees and greater community as our top priority. We're working closely with Mass General Brigham in monitoring the most up to date information from the CDC and state and local public health officials.

We continue to provide telehealth services and have opened some areas in a limited capacity to maintain social distancing and safety.

Welcome to the Marjorie K. Ionta PT Center for Clinical Education and Health Promotion at MGH Institute of Health Professions, located in the Charlestown Navy Yard of Boston.

The Center is part of the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the Institute.

We offer comprehensive assessment, therapy and specialty services for both neurological and musculoskeletal issues.

The Ionta PT Center, located on our Charlestown Navy Yard campus, provides pro bono services to individuals in the local community who may not otherwise have access to physical therapy care or those whose insurance benefits have expired but still need continued therapy. Goals of the Center.

The Center is named for Marjorie K. Ionta, PT, part of the original planning group of founders for MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) who envisioned an interprofessional graduate school to create leaders and master clinicians in the health care professions. She was the first Professor Emerita at the IHP. Learn more about Ms. Ionta.

Clinicians at the Center

Graduate students enrolled in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program apply the skills they have learned from Institute faculty to care for clients with a range of orthopedic, neurological, and multisystem impairments.

Depending on client and community need, group therapy/interventions, wellness intervention, and care for individuals across the life span may also be introduced.

Our clinicians are mentored by certified and licensed faculty members of the Department of Physical Therapy, who closely supervise all sessions.
