Gwendolyn Larsen, PT, DPT, is an Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy and the Coordinator for the Marjorie K. Ionta PT Center for Clinical Education and Health Promotion. In these roles, she teaches foundational skills and clinical application within the neurologic curriculum while advancing the PT Center’s mission of community service through pro bono care and health promotion programming. She also serves as the Education/Community Outreach Coordinator for Tedy’s Team Center of Excellence in Stroke Recovery, partnering with local organizations and engaging students to provide community education on stroke awareness and prevention. She is active in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), serving for the last 4 years as the Education Lead for the Neurologic SIG of the APTA of Massachusetts.
Dr. Larsen’s clinical background includes over 20 years of working with individuals with a variety of neurologic conditions across the continuum of care and lifespan, with significant experience supporting recovery and return to meaningful activities following stroke and traumatic brain injury. She has been recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist since 2014. Her scholarship interests focus on physical activity and community participation for those living with chronic neurological conditions. She recently earned a Master of Science in Health Professions Education from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, where she is continuing her studies toward a PhD.
