CategoryCredits

Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation are NOT required for application.

Application review, equivalency determination, and admissions decisions can all be made based on unofficial transcripts. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to starting the program.

Unofficial Transcripts

What are they?
Unofficial transcripts are copies of your academic record that show the courses you took and the grades you earned. They are not signed, sealed, or sent directly from your school; they are for your personal use.

Where to access:
Most colleges and universities let you download your unofficial transcript for free through the student portal (the website where you log in to view grades, register for classes, or pay bills).

What if I don’t have access?
If you can’t log in to your old student portal, try contacting the Registrar’s Office or Student Records Office of your former school. They can usually re-establish access to the portal or email you a copy.

Official Transcripts

What are they?
Official transcripts are the certified, sealed versions of your academic record. These must come directly from your previous school to our admissions office; you cannot just print and send them yourself.

Where to access:
You can usually request official transcripts through your school’s student portal, or directly from the Registrar’s Office or Student Records Office. Some schools also use third-party services (like Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse) to send transcripts electronically.

What if I don’t have access?
If your school has closed or you can’t find how to request official transcripts, check the state’s Department of Education or licensing board website. They often provide instructions for how to get records from closed schools. Our admissions office can also guide you through this process.

International Applicants
Applicants that have earned a degree from a non-US institution are required to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation from one of the following NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) members: Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., SpanTran: The Evaluation Company, World Education Services (WES), or the Center for Educational Documentation. If you earned your bachelor's degree outside of the U.S. this credential evaluation must document minimum equivalency of a US baccalaureate degree or higher.

Our aim is to ensure you receive academic credit for all of your prior coursework, work history, and military service. The policies below are used to guide decisions about transfer credits.

Students must have earned a C or higher at a regionally accredited institution for any courses (minimum 45) that are being transferred into the Bachelor of Science in Health Science program.

Courses with grades of C- or lower will not qualify for transfer.

Pass / fail grades will generally transfer as free electives. Exceptions may be made for coursework occurring between Spring 2020 and Spring 2021 when many institutions offered flexible practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our BSHS program does not have a time limit requirement for transfer courses.

Many professional programs will want you to have taken prerequisites within the last 5, or 7, or 10 years. In these instances, your advisor will work with you to ensure you are receiving credit for your prior coursework AND that you’ll meet application requirements for any future programs you are considering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Students

We are a fit for a wide range of students - you might be already employed with an associates degree and out of school for 5 years, or you might currently be getting your associates at a community college. The high-touch tailored curriculum experience is able to fit wherever you are in your career, as long as you have some college credit.

This program is eligible for our tuition reduction program, meaning if you work at one of 600 MGB affiliate sites, you will get a 40% reduction in the cost of the program, and if you are the child of someone who works at one of those sites, you get 20% off the cost of the program.

The flexibility afforded by this program is key. The program can be worked so it is 100% online, and our faculty have the experience teaching students who are already living life - our school's foundations as a grad school helps us understand how students who already have jobs and responsibilities approach learning and class time.

If you transfer, you will still have time for a balance of friends and social activities outside of school while in the bachelors program. If you think you want to continue on to a master's degree, we'll set you up with a faculty member from your program of interest in order to pick the curriculum personalize to you that will maximize your time spent in a classroom.

A bachelors can not only increase your pay in your current role, but could also position you to take more of a leadership role if that is what you desire. For example, at Mass General Brigham, there are 45 job titles that would see an increase in pay from this bachelors degree, including Medical Assistant, Patient Coordinator, Lab Aide, Office Assistant, Financial Coordinator. We know you have more to offer - credentials like these can help open the next door.

Yes, we are here to help you design a curriculum that meets your goals.

Students must have earned a C+ or higher at a regionally accredited institution for any courses (minimum 45) that are being transferred into the Bachelor of Science in Health Science program.

Pass / fail grades will generally transfer as free electives. Exceptions may be made for coursework occurring between Spring 2020 and Spring 2021 when many institutions offered flexible practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yes. All general education coursework must be complete prior to matriculating in the BSHS program.
