Academic Leadership Council

The Academic Leadership Council is the key advisory group for the office of the Provost, providing open and honest discussion and debate on issues of importance to the academic community. The Academic Leadership Council is charged with providing unified strategic direction for the academic programs, consistent with the Institute’s cardinal documents (mission and vision, core values, strategic map), working with the Provost to design leadership opportunities for the academic leaders of the Institute, and setting the agenda for the Academic Council meetings, and for assuring that decisions made by the Academic Council, Executive Council, and Board of Trustees are implemented throughout the academic departments and programs.

Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council

The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council, chaired by President Paula Milone-Nuzzo, provides leadership for JEDI as a strategic priority of the Institute, and is responsible for advancing the Institute's justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.

Executive Council

The MGH Institute is led by a team of academic and administrative directors who are responsible for the daily oversight of student education, faculty support, and other administrative functions related to the Institute's mission.

Faculty Senate

The Faculty Senate is the representative body to conduct the business of the Faculty. The Senate members include the elected officers and the elected or appointed members of the Standing Committees. The Senate reports its proceedings to the Faculty on a timely basis, distributing in advance its schedule of meetings, and informs the Faculty of significant issues coming before it.

President's Council

The President’s Council serves as a bridge between President of MGH Institute of Health Professions, the Board of Trustees, the Institute community, and the community at large in Greater Boston and beyond.

School of Nursing Advisory Board

The School of Nursing Advisory Board was established in 2022. Its officers and members serve solely in an advisory capacity to the Dean of the School of Nursing. Its mission is to support and promote the Dean's vision for the School of Nursing's educational, research and service objectives.

Staff Council

The IHP Staff Council provides an official channel of communications between staff and administration. In addition, it provides professional development opportunities for staff, and regular community service projects, consistent with and supportive of the Institute’s mission, vision, and core values. Staff Council members are representatives of all MGH Institute staff. The staff council chair and chair-elect meet with the MGH Institute president on a monthly basis. Council members discuss current staff concerns and successes, share current events and news, determine dates and themes for General Staff Council Meetings, sit on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, and chair Staff Council sub-committees.

The Student Government Association (SGA) represents and serves the needs and interest of IHP students. Its mission includes management of all student clubs.

Wellness Council

The Student Wellness Council exists to promote and coordinate support for the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of IHP students. This mission is accomplished through open dialogue to coordinate existing resources and share best-practices while also exploring new opportunities to grow the Institute’s approaches to student wellness. Including students, faculty, staff, and alumni in this initiative ensures the Council benefits from a wide variety of perspectives and the Council’s work respects and includes all stakeholders.
