MGH Institute academic programs and departments fund Graduate Assistantships. These work opportunities allow students to earn a small stipend to offset some of their educational costs. Opportunities are limited and not guaranteed as they become available as needed. Managed through the Human Resources Department.

The office of admission is seeking On-Campus Tour Guides and Admissions Ambassadors.

Tour Guides- 90 minute tour to prospective students (Thursdays mid-June-August).

Admission Ambassadors- Staff admission recruitment events, monitor the admissions on-line chat during office hours, serve as a resource for prospective, incoming students to the IHP.

 

Skills required: Training provided by office of admission.

Location: Hybrid and onsite.

GA Rate of Pay: $17.71/hour 

Hours Per Week: 5 on average. Flexible remote schedule; can be primarily evenings/weekends to accommodate your class schedule. We are open to bringing on a student already working for another IHP department/program or a soon to matriculate student.

The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences Program GA will assist Program leaders with operational, communication, and creative tasks such as:

  • Designing event announcements (Dissertation Presentations, Faculty Workshops)
  • Assisting the Associate Director/Director with special projects related to admissions, enrollment, program data, and social events
  • Posting announcements on Student/Faculty D2L channels
  • Updating the Program’s Outlook Calendar and distribution lists
  • Reviewing and triaging emails in the PhD RS program Outlook email account, including responding to simple inquiries from prospective PhD students
  • Following up with action/deadline reminders to students and faculty
  • Updating current student and alumni records
  • Supporting the admissions cycle by soliciting letters of support from proposed research mentors
  • Helping at in-person program events including the annual Awards Ceremony (May) and Student Orientation (September), if class/clinic schedules allow.
  • Other tasks as assigned, based on GA skills and interests

Skills required: Detail-oriented, organized, flexible, tech-savvy, customer-service oriented, and approachable IHP graduate student. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, Excel), Google applications, and Canva Design is desired. Experience with electronic data capture tools (e.g. REDcap) or a curiosity and willingness to learn basic REDcap skills for managing program surveys is preferred and would make for a particularly excellent fit. Applicants may be students in any IHP program, excluding the PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences Program.

Location/Work Requirements: This position is primarily remote; no in-person activities are required, although in person support of a spring, summer, and/or fall program event is desirable. Schedule is flexible. A weekly 30-minute Teams check in with the Associate Director will provide the opportunity to collaborate and prioritize responsibilities. Use of personal computer, internet access, and MGB network access will be required to successfully perform job duties.
