MGH Institute academic programs and departments fund Graduate Assistantships. These work opportunities allow students to earn a small stipend to offset some of their educational costs.

Graduate Assistantships are limited and not guaranteed as they become available as needed.  These opportunities are managed through the Human Resources Department

Department: CIPSI
Position Title: Graduate Assistant (4 positions available)

Graduate Assistant Rate of Pay: $13.50/hour 

Duties:
CIPSI Graduate Assistants are valuable members of the CIPSI staff that support the everyday operations of the department. The ideal GA is detail oriented, creative, and flexible. Some of the day to day duties may include:

  • Creating social media flyers using CANVA.
  • Supporting faculty with D2L resources.
  • Greeting visitors in the Provost Suite.
  • Providing general administrative office support as needed.
  • Supporting outreach and events by producing social media content, creating flyers, taking photos and helping with set up and clean up.

Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills; and be knowledgeable in MS office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and comfortable learning and navigating online systems.

Graduate Assistant Rate of Pay: $13.50/hour 
 
The job will consist of sending and/or writing press releases, organizing email lists, and other sundry tasks. Experience in professional non-academic writing is preferred but not required. Flexible virtual hours can include working at night and/or weekends. May include working on campus at times.

Department: PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences Program 
Position Title: Graduate Assistant (one position available)
Hours Per Week:

Graduate Assistant Rate of Pay: $13.50/hour 
 
Duties: 
The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences Program Graduate Assistant will assist the Program Coordinator and Interim Director with administrative and organizing tasks such as: 
•         Sending weekly Seminar communications to students and guest presenters. 
•         Posting materials and announcements on D2L 
•         Sending academic calendar and event reminders to students 
•         Helping to file and organize shared drive materials 
•         Setting up Zoom meetings 
•         Assisting instructors with course tech or organizing requests as needed 
•         Other tasks as assigned 
 
Remote Work Requirements: This position is currently remote. Use of personal computer and internet access will be required to successfully perform job duties.

Provide administrative support to the Office of the President. Responsibilities may include:

  • Front desk coverage for the President’s Suite (answering phone, greeting visitors, etc.)
  • Meeting and event support (Board of Trustee meetings, luncheons, receptions, etc.)
  • Maintaining and ordering office supplies 
  • Preparing and editing documents
  • Other duties and projects as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and organization skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

Department: Office of the Provost
Position Title: Graduate Assistant (2-4 positions available)
Start Date: ASAP Fall 2021 

Graduate Assistant Rate of Pay: $13.50/hour 

This Graduate Assistant is responsible for providing on-campus administrative support to a variety of projects and programs within the Office of the Provost.

Typical duties include:

• Provide service at the reception desk for the Office of the Provost
• Perform a variety of administrative tasks including data entry and analysis, collating materials, and presentations.
• Provide assistance with event planning
• Provide help with marketing efforts and social media accounts
• Assist with the coordination of volunteers for our Harvard-Kent partnership

Preferred applicants have experience with social media and marketing.

Position Title: SHRS Dean’s Office JEDI Fellowship (one position available)
Department: SHRS
Hours per week: 10

 JEDI Fellow Rate of Pay: $15.00 /hr

Position Start Date: Sept 2021 
Position End Date: upon graduation 

Position Description: 
The JEDI Fellowship was established as a part of the IHP’s anti-oppression initiatives. This is the second year the JEDI fellowship will be implemented. The SHRS JEDI Fellow will work out of the SHRS Dean’s  Office, will report directly to the Asst Dean for Budget and Operations and the Asst Dean for Faculty and Student Success.  Principal responsibilities include working closely with the other SHRS program Fellows, and taking a leading role in the SHRS Anti Oppression Task Force. Students from all SHRS programs are encouraged to apply for these positions. 

Requirements:

  • Current MGH Institute of Health Professions students. 
  • Strong interest in developing and facilitating JEDI programming. 
  • Collaborating with JEDI staff and academic program staff on new ideas, directions, and programming on equity, diversity, and inclusion events. 
  • Help manage and organize new and existing programming materials; create an online database of shared online resources and document programming for institutional knowledge. 
  • Provide research assistance. 
  • Provide support and resources to students or student organizations to lead and facilitate programming or initiatives. 
  • Participate in the coordination and promotion of JEDI programming on campus. 
  • Promote inter-community and intra-community dialogues and engagement. 
  • Expectation to attend weekly JEDI team meetings and building community with JEDI fellows. 
  • Draft, design, and distribute flyers, social media, and other marketing materials for events hosted by JEDI. 
  • Willing to enter conversations and advocate on behalf of IHP community and students 
  • Design program initiatives. 
  • Project management experience preferred.
