Susan has worked in international education for 15+ years with international students, scholars, and visiting faculty, and is passionate about the field. Prior to her entering the higher education sector, she lived and worked in Italy and Poland for ten years, as an English language professor and translator, and remains active in the teaching field. For the past few summers, she has taught intensive English at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Spanish Literature from UMass Amherst and a graduate degree in Italian Literature from Boston College. Past positions include work in the international sector at UMass Boston, Boston University, Northeastern University, and Babson College.
From 2019 – 2023 she worked as a trainer for the NAFSA Trainer Corps providing instruction on J-1 visa regulations for schools hosting visiting scholars and researchers.
At the MGH Institute of Health Professions, Susan works as a Program Manager in the Office of Student Affairs & Services (OSAS) where she advises F-1 international students on visa and immigration policy, including internships and employment options. She closely works with Student Organizations to support elections, budget-monitoring, and programming, as well as assist with Faculty-Led Study Travel.
