
Immediately prior to joining the Institute, Dr. Finn served as Professor of Health Sciences and Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH. He also dually served as the Director of Clinical Partnerships at Dartmouth Health. During his tenure at Colby-Sawyer and Dartmouth Health, he led strong enrollment growth and built numerous health professional education programs. This work also involved designing clinical training opportunities and career pathways for Colby-Sawyer across the Dartmouth Health system. Before that, he served as Department Chair and later Associate Dean in the School of Health Sciences at Merrimack College (his alma mater) in North Andover, MA, where he led enrollment growth initiatives at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At Merrimack, he earned tenure in 2012 and the rank of full professor in 2018. As for education, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine at Merrimack College, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Foundations at Fairfield University, and Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University. He is also a certified athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. He has a research focus on the promotion of physical activity and the intersection of science education in children.
