KaRynn's dissertation focuses on incorporating Implementation Science (IS) methodology to investigate the integration of language interventions with three different aspects: (1) the integration of language and word reading interventions (identifying the barriers and facilitators to implementation), (2) the integration of language and knowledge-building components in English Language Arts (ELA) curricula (systematic comparative review), and (3) the integration of language and writing instruction in the Written and Verbal Expression (WAVE) Summer Writing Program (a graduate student externship). Her methodology integrates implementation science frameworks with rigorous quantitative and community-engaged research approaches to address the complex challenges of adopting and integrating evidence-based practices within school systems.
