Elaine is currently the Director of Faculty Development in the School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She served as dean of the School of Nursing at the Institute from August of 2019 until August 2021. Previous to her appointment as Dean, she taught leadership courses and served as an advisor for students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She also acted as a Strategic Nurse Planner in the Office of Continuing and Professional Development, contributing her nursing education expertise to the development and oversight of interprofessional programs at MGH Institute of Health Professions. Additionally, she is also a member of the steering committee for the Center for Climate Change, Climate Justice and Health at the Institute.
Elaine continues to serve as a consultant with the National League for Nursing (NLN); from 2010 through 2017 she was one of their Chief Program Officers.
For over 25 years Elaine was a Professor of Nursing and the Independence Foundation Chair in Community Health Nursing Education at Community College of Philadelphia. Elaine also served as President of the NLN from 2007-2009. Elaine has a long history of organizational leadership and grant funded initiatives and has worked nationally to support models that increase the academic progression of all nursing graduates and provide patient-centric care for older adults and their caregivers.
