Dr. Bridget McGovern, PT, DPT, ATC, is a Faculty Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She has been involved in teaching at the MGH Institute since 2017, serving as both a Lab Instructor and Adjunct Faculty.

Dr. McGovern is dually licensed as a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy at Simmons College in 1986. She later completed a Certificate of Advanced Study in Physical Therapy in 2005 and earned her Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2007.

Dr. McGovern is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy, Emerita. She brings over 35 years of clinical experience along with more than 30 years of teaching experience in Physical Therapy programs throughout the Boston area. Dr. McGovern is deeply committed to educating future Physical Therapists to become professional, compassionate, and highly skilled clinicians. She has also been actively involved in initiatives at the Institute aimed at supporting student success in the classroom.
