•    Energy Metabolism
•    Endocrine Response to Exercise
•    Energy Expenditure: Measurement During Exercise
•    Cardiovascular Dynamics During Exercise
•    Pulmonary Function During Exercise; Gas Exchange
•    Clinical Exercise Physiology
•    Exercise and Thermal Stress
•    Structure and Function of Skeletal Muscle
•    Neuromotor System; Neural Control of Movement
•    Training for Anaerobic and Aerobic Power
•    Body Composition Assessment: Obesity and Physical Activity

General Course Activities/How To Plan Your Time

•    Work is organized into 1 module per week
•    Quizzes are due by Tuesday of each week
•    Weekly discussions take place on Wednesday and Thursday of each week
•    All activities can be completed before the assigned date/time to accommodate your work/life schedule
•    Assignments that occur weekly or throughout the semester include:
–    Independent weekly research of topics related to various areas of Exercise Physiology
–    Weekly discussions within group
–    Case Studies (3 for semester)
–    Lab report (completed in groups)
•    Most students dedicate 10-15 hours/week to the course
•    We recommend planning several 1- 2 hour study blocks throughout the week and checking into the course daily once the discussions begin.
