Steven M. Ciesielski
Steve Ciesielski, MA, is the Assistant Dean of Student Success for the School of Nursing at MGH Institute of Health Professions. He joined the Institute in January 2013 as an Academic Support Counselor. Today, Steve's responsibilities include providing leadership in areas of student recruitment, admissions, and retention. He works with the members of the Academic Support Staff to ensure students are provided thoughtful and effective assistance and skills. He partners regularly with School of Nursing faculty to address concerns that may impede student learning.
Support services typically address student concerns including: understanding critical thinking, adjusting study habits to reflect applied science curriculum, stress/time management, anxiety, test taking, and preparation for the nursing boards.
Steve serves on a number of committees, including the Institute-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He served as Staff Council Chair for the 2017-2018 academic year, and was honored as Employee of the Year for the academic year 2018-2019.
He received his Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Fairfield University and is a National Certified Counselor. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Providence College.
Steve brings over 15 years of experience as a creative manager, with a talent of combining a person-centered approach with a results driven focus to deliver sound student services.
