Overview:
Health professionals occupy a critical position in the response to climate change. However, globally, few public health, medical or nursing programs yet teach their students about climate impacts, and evidence suggests that current training programs are inadequate to meet current and future population-level health needs.
This presentation will address 1) what are the essential climate-related skills and knowledge that health practitioners must possess 2) how novel curricula and education approaches can be created to bridge this gap; 3) how institutions can collaborate to form educational coalitions.
