DateSep 17, 2024
9:00am - 5:00pm
Location
Shouse and 1CW

Tuesday, Sept 17 is National Voter Registration Day and the IHP has become a partner to encourage all our faculty, staff, and students to exercise their civic duty to vote. Tables will be set up in Shouse and 1CW on the 17th, and a QR code will make it easy to register and paper forms will also be available.

National Voter Registration Day is dedicated to getting every eligible American registered to vote ahead of the various state deadlines. As the nation’s largest nonpartisan civic holiday, organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local food banks and public libraries will join forces for a one-day, nationwide democracy blitz to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities through in-person events, virtual events, and media outreach. Since 2012, over 5 million voters have registered to vote or updated their voter registrations on National Voter Registration Day, including 1.5 million in 2020 alone.

For students, voter registration is tied to where they live. As a college student, you can usually register to vote in either your hometown or where you attend college, depending on the residency requirements of your state. Keep in mind: You can live in more than one place, but you are only allowed to vote in one place. You'll find posters around campus advertising the event.
