Janet Callahan, PT, DPT, MS, NCS, was Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She was awarded Assistant Professor Emerita status in 2017.

Janet's teaching responsibilities in the Master of Science and the Entry-Level Doctor of Physical Therapy programs include Introduction to Patient/Client Management Frameworks, Seminar and Practicum courses, and Medical Management of Patients with Neuromuscular Disorders, Examination and Intervention of Neurologic Disorders and a Vestibular Rehabilitation elective.

Janet has strong and varied experience in a variety of clinical settings, including as a member of the Physical Therapy Department at Massachusetts General Hospital (Mass General) for the past 13 years, the last 8 years as a Clinical Specialist.

She is a Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy (NCS) and has a Certificate in Vestibular Rehabilitation.

As a Clinical Specialist at Mass General, Janet’s responsibilities include mentoring staff PTs in developing their clinical decision-making skills and in managing
