Susan Arruda, PhD, is a Lecturer in Genetics for the Online Prerequisites for the Health Professions. She has a background in Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology and earned her PhD from Dartmouth College. Dr. Arruda is an Associate Professor of Biology at Franklin Pierce University, where she has been teaching for the past 20 years. Dr. Arruda has a passion for teaching undergraduates and working with them in the research laboratory. Dr. Arruda's research interests include using genetic and biochemical analyses to investigate phototransduction and retinal degenerative diseases in the model organism, Drosophila melanogaster.
