Rob DeShane began his career in medicine as a phlebotomist in 1999 while attending nursing school. After graduating with his BSN in 2002, he worked in the ED at a level one trauma center in Grand Rapids, MI, while he completed his MPAS degree in 2007. Rob then began his career as a PA in pulmonary critical care but has spent most of his career in neurosurgery and neurocritical care. Most recently, Rob was the lead APP at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he helped develop the neurocritical care program there. He also had an appointment as an instructor in the Geisel School of Medicine in the Department of Neurology while at DHMC, which has sparked a deepening interest in medical education.
