
Mary E. Evenson, OTD, MPH, OTR/L, FAOTA, is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Occupational Therapy. She completed her entry-level OT education at the University of Puget Sound, obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, and a post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from Tufts University.
Dr. Evenson joined the MGH Institute Department of Occupational Therapy as the founding Director of Clinical Education in 2012. She was instrumental in the early phases of the Institute's OT program development, assisting the department in key accreditation requirements and processes to ensure student success.
Dr. Evenson's national leadership and experience in clinical education allowed the Institute to thrive and serve as a national model for experiential education in occupational therapy. Her nearly 40-year career in OT has largely been devoted to education and supporting occupational therapy students and clinical educators.
Dr. Evenson served on the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Commission on Education, has written chapters in seminal OT textbooks on best practices in clinical education, and was awarded the OT profession's highest honor, a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
