
Maria Openshaw is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in practice since 2014. She has provided midwifery care in a variety of birth settings, ranging from academic and community hospitals, birth centers, and rural health centers in low-resource settings. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese, and her clinical practice focuses on the care of immigrant and refugee families. Her teaching interests include trauma-informed and reproductive justice-informed care and narrative practice. Her academic interests include global health, organizational culture, and midwifery workforce diversification.
