Luella Benn is the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Title IX Coordinator at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. In her role, she provides leadership for accessibility services, career and professional development, international student advising, student engagement initiatives, and broader student life programming that support student success and belonging across the institution.
Luella’s professional work has centered on creating equitable and inclusive educational environments, with particular expertise in disability access and accommodations in higher education. She collaborates closely with students, faculty, and academic programs to support access and inclusion across both classroom and clinical learning environments.
Prior to joining the IHP, Luella spent 14 years working in K–12 education as a special education administrator and licensed professional school counselor focused on improving access and educational equity for students with disabilities.
A first-generation college student, Luella earned her B.A. in Psychology from Boston University and her M.Ed. in School Counseling from Suffolk University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in education at Northeastern University, where her research examines disability disclosure and accommodations in clinical education within the health professions.
