
John Paul Bonadonna, OTD, OTR/L, CSRS is the Lead Occupational Therapist at Imago Rehab and a research occupational therapist in the Biodesign Lab at Harvard University. His areas of interest include neurorehabilitation, telehealth, and use of rehabilitation robotics. At Imago Rehab, he treats chronic stroke survivors utilizing telehealth, rehab robotics, and virtual reality, in addition to assisting in the creation of a novel telehealth model for stroke rehabilitation, creating protocols, and training new therapists. Through his research at Harvard University, he works with an interdisciplinary team to create and test new robotic devices for people with a range of neurological diagnoses. John Paul also serves as the Co-Chair of the Chapters Committee for the Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD).
Prior to his work as an occupational therapist, he served as the Vice President of the Student Government Association at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, co-founded the COTAD MGH IHP Chapter, and served as Chair of the Community Outreach Committee. In his various roles, he created novel programming, including the IHP Mentorship Program for Underrepresented Groups in Healthcare, and Cultural Science Day at Harvard Kent.
Prior to his work and education at the IHP, he received a BS in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. Prior to attending graduate school, he served as a lab manager for four years in a behavioral neuroscience lab at Arizona State University, researching novel therapeutics for cocaine, opioid, and methamphetamine addiction.
