Jennifer Dean Durning (she/her) is an assistant professor for the pediatric nurse practitioner Masters students at the School of Nursing. Jennifer joined the faculty in 2020 after 5 years of serving as a term lecturer.
Jennifer has practiced in pediatric primary care since 2001. She is passionate about child and adolescent development, and in turn, works on sharing her knowledge to help guardians optimize their children’s development and health. She also loves imparting her passion for family-centered pediatric care with the next generation of pediatric nurse practitioners.
Jennifer completed a PhD in Nursing Education at Villanova University in 2024. As an outgrowth of her clinical experience, Jennifer’s research focuses on the primary care of children and adolescents in immigrant families. Her dissertation will explore the understanding and experiences of health among Dominican American adolescents.
