Daniela Diaz Caro, MS, CGC (she/her), is a part-time research faculty instructor in the Genetic Counseling program at Mass General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She is a co-founder of the Latin American Professional Society of Genetic Counseling (SPLAGen) and the Undocumented Genetic Counseling Network (undocuGC). She also serves as co-chair of the National Society for Genetic Counseling Spanish Development Special Interest Group. Her professional and volunteer roles are informed by her experiences as a first-generation Peruvian immigrant, fluent Spanish speaker, and former DACA recipient. Her commitment to advocacy is reflected in her efforts to foster supportive networks and raise awareness among genetic counselors about the unique needs of the communities she represents.

Daniela's research interests include the development of culturally competent care models in genetic counseling, improving equitable access to genetic services, and the inclusion of Latin American populations and perspectives in the field. Her work also explores how language and sociocultural context impact the patient experience in genetic counseling, particularly for Spanish-speaking communities.
