Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University. Immediately upon graduating in 2018, he completed the Orthopedic Residency at the MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP). He is now a sports physical therapist at MGH Waltham. He also runs his own business Poirier Physical Therapy and Performance, PLLC where he offers in-person physical therapy at Bando Performance, telehealth, and virtual coaching services.

Chris is a lab instructor in the DPT program teaching components of the orthopedic and concussion curriculum. He is faculty in both the MGH IHP orthopedic and sports residency programs and lecturer for the pain science module of the residency.

He is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Chris is credentialed by the APTA as a Clinical Instructor and has served as a lab instructor since his time as an orthopedic resident.

In the clinic, Chris has extensive experience helping athletes recover from ACL injuries, sports-related concussion, knee injuries, and post-operative conditions. His specialty populations include athletes who compete in field sports, combat sports, and strength sports. As a clinician Chris blends rehabilitation, coaching, and empowering treatment models to maximize his patient's success and self-efficacy.
