Dr. Paul-Simon joined the MGH Institute School of Nursing faculty in 1991 as a lecturer. She then went on to hold the appointments of Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education, Associate Director Generalist Level, and then Clinical Associate Professor. Her last administrative position was as Assistant Dean for the baccalaureate program in the School of Nursing, administratively responsible for the School's Accelerated BSN Program. She is Affiliate Faculty in the Health Professions Education program.
Dr. Paul-Simon has taught at the diploma, baccalaureate and graduate levels in nursing. She has been involved in curriculum development and specifically development of innovative models for delivering nursing education to adult re-entry learners.
Dr. Paul-Simon's professional practice interests and expertise lie in the areas of maternal child health nursing and women's health. She has spoken on planned organizational change and is interested in research on organizations; managing individual, group and organizational interactions and assessing quality of work-life issues for nurses who provide direct patient care.
Dr. Paul-Simon retired in December 2012, and was accorded Professor Emerita status by the Board of Trustees. She was honored at the 2013 Commencement.
She currently teaches in the Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MS-HPED) program at the Institute.
