The North Bank Pedestrian Bridge also connects Cambridge to Charlestown by providing bikers with a convenient path near the Lechmere MBTA station (Green subway line and buses) and 1 Kendall Square (near the Red subway line) in Cambridge.  View a map of BLUEbike  stations in the greater Boston area. Sudents and employees are eligible for a BLUEbike discount.

Locations of bike racks, bike cages, bike repair stations, and shower/locker facilities.

Register Your Bike
The IHP has partnered with Bike Index, one of the largest bicycle registration and theft-recovery sites in the country. Students and employees biking to campus are strongly suggested to register their bike for free . Enter your bike’s information and serial number along with a photo of your bike. Most bike serial numbers are engraved beneath their bottom bracket. Registration helps provide proof of ownership and assists with the return of your bike if it is recovered.

Students can choose to park their bike in either of the two bike cages located on campus. Instructions on how to sign up for each are shown below. Spots within the cages are available on a first come first serve basis.

  • Building 36 (Shouse) Bike Cage: This cage is located on the East side of the Shouse building. Please open a help desk ticket with the numbers located on the back of your MGHIHP ID badge. Your badge will then be programed to access/use the cage by scanning it at the entrance.
