This 19-week program, offered through the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, is designed for physician assistants (PAs) seeking to transition to psychiatric practice, new graduates interested in psychiatry, and PAs currently working in psychiatry.

 

Semester Starts: January 6, 2025

Learners will benefit from:

  1. Tools for clinical practice in psychiatry
  2. Preparation for the NCCPA Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry
  3. A structured approach to key psychiatric competencies in diagnostic foundations, neurobiological principles, and therapeutic approaches
  4. Flexible, hybrid format
  5. 50.0 hours of Category 1 CME towards eligibility to sit for the certification exam.

 

100% online, hybrid model runs for 19 weeks

  • Online, asynchronous content (~5 hours per week)
  • 9 live Zoom sessions for discussion, practice, collaboration & additional mentorship

This course is ideal for national certified physician associates/assistants (PAs) that hold a current, active PA license who are currently practicing within psychiatry practice OR have an interest in transitioning to psychiatry practice.
