Develop group emotional intelligence capacity with your teams

100% online | Self-paced & interactive | Begin anytime!

Healthcare is a team effort, yet much team dysfunction continues to exist. Evidence for this can be found in many clinical settings. Emotional Intelligence (EI) is imperative for individual and group function. It accounts for a significant portion of what moves good leadership to greatness. Despite the growing literature around this topic, individual knowledge of EI is often superficial with a significant focus on the self-awareness component rather than self-management, social-awareness, and relationship management components.

Workshop Overview

This course will explore emotional intelligence in healthcare teams and identify dimensions of group emotional competence, reflecting on how to develop each to improve team productivity. Navigate this course at your own pace, engaging in case analysis, and applying knowledge to your life with a recall exercise.

This topic is relevant to anyone who participates in or leads a team. Although the examples are specific to healthcare, we will look at teams through an interprofessional lens and you will quickly see how this applies in all aspects of your lives.
