Following graduation, Kate worked as an adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the IHP. She is a speech-language pathologist and literacy specialist who has expertise in working with children with oral and written language difficulties, including developmental language disorder (DLD) and dyslexia.
Prior to her career as a Speech Language Pathologist, she studied and worked in the field of Early Childhood Education with a strong interest in early literacy. Kate's clinical and research interests include the implementation of evidence-based practices to support school-aged children in the areas of oral language and literacy.

During her time at the IHP, Kate worked in the Speech & Language (SAiL) Literacy Lab, under the mentorship of Dr. Tiffany Hogan.
