Alumni Reflect on 2025, Share their Intention for 2026, and Offer a Piece of Advice
A common practice each December is to take time to reflect on the “highs” and “lows” from the past year and to set an intention for the year ahead. This often helps individuals solidify their learning, celebrate their achievements, and determine their path going forward. The Office of Alumni Relations wanted to know what our alumni would say when asked to look back on 2025. Below, you will read four alumni’s reflections on resilience, risk taking, and the importance of slowing down. You will also find out what intentions these alumni have chosen as their focus for 2026. Finally, in support of all in the alumni community, our contributors have shared a resource, tool, or piece of advice that they hope will support you as well.
Your turn. Take a few minutes to consider your own professional growth in 2025. Remember, growth can come in many forms, from skills developed to mindset shifts or new relationships built. It’s not all about the number of patients you’ve seen or articles you’ve published. It’s about setting the intention to grow, finding your path for growth, shifting your perspective if needed, navigating the bumps along the way, and celebrating what you’ve accomplished. Once you have celebrated your professional growth in 2025, take some time to consider your goals for 2026. Then identify one word that will serve as your intention for the year ahead. Happy New Year!
