Faculty and staff capitalized on an opportunity to connect and learn about the newly launched Center for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) during an open house in Shouse on Tuesday.
The Center will be led by Laura Wolford, SLPD faculty member and Director of the SoTL Center; Callie Watkins Liu, director of community excellence education and programs, who is leading the Health Equity Community Excellence education hub that will be coming out of the SoTL Center; Kelsey Black, the Center's research coordinator; and Tamara Wason, a PhD student who will serve as a graduate assistant for the SOTL Center.
“The whole goal of this center is to be a faculty development initiative. It is here for you, I am here for you,” said Wolford, closing out the event that featured dozens of interested visitors, snacks, desserts, and plenty of informational material about the Center.
