What has become a fall tradition at the MGH Institute had its largest turnout ever. More than 200 students, staff, and faculty took part in Thursday’s Community Mixer at the Blackmoor, which the Office of Student Affairs and Services started holding four years ago.

The Mixer wrapped up Welcome Week with food, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to meet people from across the Institute. Many played an icebreaker game that involved finding people who were from particular programs, or who had certain experiences or skills to fill up spots in a bingo-type game organized by the Student Government Association.

“Our Student Government Association E-board was especially engaged in all of our Welcome Week activities this year,” said Assistant Dean of Student Services Luella Benn. “Not only did they help us out at the events, but they helped to drive turn out. Each year we try to learn from the previous year and strive to make the event a little better. The Blackmoor has been a wonderful community partner in the event, which has gone from a few tables in the front of the restaurant, to taking over almost the entire inside space.”
