Abraham Ndiwane, Associate Professor in the School of Nursing, was selected to the Nominations and Election Committee of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions, (ASAHP) an association comprised of 113 universities and schools around the country.

“I am thankful for utilizing the leadership skills and training gleaned from the National League for Nursing’s Center for Transformational Leadership,” said Ndiwane, who has been associate professor at the Institute since 2013. “I’m also thankful for being able to Chair the School of Nursing Nomination Committee; this enabled me to hone in on the required skills for service and governance so that I can represent the MGH IHP and schools of health professions nationally.”

Dr. Ndiwane was elected for a two-year term. Among the responsibilities, he will help prepare a slate of nominees for prospective Board of Directors vacancies, as well as nominees for the Nominations and Elections Committee. He will also help develop policies surrounding mail, and electronic balloting.

“I am very humbled to have been selected through this competitive process,” noted Ndiwane.
