Several representatives from the MGH Institute Doctor of Audiology program traveled to New Orleans from March 26–29 for the American Academy of Audiology’s annual event, AAA 2025+HearTECH Expo, to showcase the Institute’s latest audiology research and expertise.

Assistant Professor Emily Jo Venskytis and Class of ’26 audiology student Marissa Gallan presented a poster highlighting Eye Ear Screening Day.

As chair-elect of the Clinical and Scientific Excellence in Audiology Council within the Academy, Venskytis also collaborated with other audiology leaders on plans for future initiatives like development and best practices for dissemination of guidelines and strategic documents that would be useful to audiologists in the field, driving the field forward.

“The conference offers the perfect balance—research, clinical insights, innovative technologies, and invaluable networking,” Venskytis said. “Being able to collaborate and learn from peers in-person truly reignites our passion for audiology and patient care.”

The presentation came a week before Gallan received the MGH Institute’s Outstanding Student Leadership Award at the Student Leadership Awards Ceremony last week.
