PhD '19 Alumni

Emily's research focuses on improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of rehabilitative care in post-acute settings, enhancing rehabilitation outcomes, and supporting long-term quality of life, particularly for individuals with acquired neurologic conditions. She uses observational data from administrative records and electronic health systems and applies implementation science methods to learn from and improve care. Her work involves extensive interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and health systems operations to facilitate meaningful learning and sustainable improvements in care quality.

Emily is an Assistant Professor, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Department of Physical Therapy, Boston University.
