Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Director and Assistant Professor Margie Sipe has been named to the inaugural American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) Class of Fellows. The inductees were honored in a ceremony at the AONE Annual Meeting on April 11 in San Diego.
“The AONE fellow designation reflects achievement at the highest level of nursing leadership practice excellence,” said AONE CEO Robyn Begley, DNP, RN. 18 fellows will be inducted in 2019 into the very first AONE Class of Fellows. Additionally, the organization announced a name change to the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) to reflect a commitment to supporting the wide spectrum of seasoned and aspiring leaders across the continuum of care.
Dr. Sipe recently completed elected appointments to the board of directors for the Organization of Nurse Leaders of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, as well as the American Nurses Association of Massachusetts. She also represented nursing in the State of Massachusetts through her past appointment to the state Hospital Information Technology (HIT) council. She currently serves as an appointed representative to the NLN National Policy Committee and serves as a per diem Nursing Program Director in Quality at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
