Thomas Doucette, PA '18, and Kelly Moscariello, ABSN '20 completed the Marathon on April 15, 2019, tackled Heartbreak Hill, and surpassed their $10,000 fundraising goal! We are so proud of both runners for their exceptional accomplishments.
Tom, a former Marine, is currently a Physician Assistant at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, who ran for the PA Studies Fund. This fund allows for unrestricted funds for the PA Studies program to address immediate needs. Prior to this race, Tom had plenty of experience running long races, completing the Marine Corps Marathon in 2011, and many half marathons since. Tom ran at an average pace of 9 ½ minutes per mile, finishing with a total time of 4:12:07. Tom is recovering well since completing the marathon, and even returned to work the day after the race!
Kelly is a first-semester ABSN student who ran to support the Scholarships and Financial Aid Fund. This fund directly impacts the students at the Institute, since many students are recipients of scholarships or financial aid. Kelly hopes that these efforts will have a lasting impact on students and allow the Institute to continue to have a talented and diverse population of students. With an official time of 4:46:04, she completed the marathon shortly after Tom. As a cross country coach in her spare time, Kelly has a passion for distance running, and was thrilled to represent IHP in the Marathon!
Donations will continue to be accepted through June 30.
