The MGH Institute welcomed prospective students to campus on Friday for its Spring Open House, offering an inside look at the Institute’s academic programs, student experience, and interprofessional approach to healthcare education.
The day-long event invited attendees to explore a wide range of graduate and undergraduate pathways in the School of Nursing and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, with presentations led by faculty. Visitors had the opportunity to meet faculty, connect with current students and alumni, and learn more about admissions and financial aid.
“The Open House has quickly become one of the most exciting days on campus over the last year of hosting the event,” said Lauren Finn, Director of Admissions. “Many offices coordinate to make this event a success, especially the Office of Admissions.”
The event featured opening remarks from President Deborah Jones, who welcomed prospective students and highlighted the MGH Institute’s mission to prepare skilled, compassionate, and collaborative healthcare leaders. President Jones emphasized the Institute’s unique connection to Mass General Brigham, hands-on learning opportunities, and commitment to health equity.
Attendees were encouraged to explore the campus, engage with the community, and envision themselves as future students while they were on campus.
The day also included program-specific information sessions and interactive panels where current students and alumni shared firsthand perspectives on life at the Institute. A resource fair and guided campus tours throughout the day provided additional opportunities for attendees to engage with the community and experience the Institute’s learning environment.
Prospective, accepted, and incoming students received a firsthand sense of the Institute’s culture.
“Visitors get a true feeling of the helpful, welcoming, and supportive campus we have at MGH Institute,” Finn said.
Student Admissions Ambassadors played a central role in welcoming guests and sharing their experiences.
“Our shining stars of the day are our Admissions Ambassadors who guide visitors around campus, lead campus tours, and speak from their own experiences of why they chose to attend the IHP,” Finn added. “We hope anyone who attends leaves with a clear understanding of who we are, what we value, and sees firsthand what a special place the Institute is."
