Four teams and nine individual winners were celebrated Tuesday during the MGH Institute’s annual Pillars of Excellence Awards, held in 1 CW. Similar events are occurring throughout the system to celebrate the outstanding contributions of talented employees across the organization.
“We look forward to the Pillars of Excellence Award program every year because it allows us to recognize your achievements in our collective commitment to our mission,” said Human Resources Director Sarah Welch, as she addressed the "roomies" (those attending in person) and "Zoomies" (those attending online) while serving as the event’s emcee. “Mass General Brigham has a long-standing history of celebrating the outstanding contribution of talented employees across the entire system. We're delighted to continue this tradition.”
The selection committee received 15 individual nominations and 17 team nominations.
“This is a celebration of innovation and creativity,” said President Paula Milone-Nuzzo. “And I can't think of a more important thing that we do than celebrate your commitment to the IHP, your innovation and commitment to solving problems and creating new solutions and opportunities for our students, for our staff, for each other.”
Following virtual remarks by President and CEO of Mass General Brigham, Dr. Anne Klibanski, Welch and Provost Reamer Bushardt handed out the individual and team Pillars Awards.
“We have some fantastic people here, don't we?” noted Bushardt. “I tell people all the time as I go around the country, I've never worked in a community with more talented, capable, caring people.”
