People were wracking their brains in Shouse 305 last Thursday but it wasn’t students trying to recall course material for an exam. It was MGH Institute faculty and staff competing in the annual trivia event.

Winners “The Sunny Snack Pack” edged out the runner-ups, “The Lucky Ducks.” The winning team included IT Senior Web Content & Strategy Manager Rachel Renaux, IT User Account Administrator Valerie Grande, Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing Megan Wilcox, and Director of Technology and Web Services Jorge Sanchez de Lozada, each of whom took home a $75 prize.

“We appreciated the opportunity to share some laughs and learn new facts,” said Sunny Snack Pack team member Renaux. “Our three-person team from the walking challenge recruited Jorge as our fourth for his random knowledge and we're glad we did - each of us contributed a key answer that set us up for success in the end.”

There was also a competition for Best Team Name, won by the “Neurolinguistic Ninjas.” Team memebers Suzanne Pennington (Instructor, Communications Sciences and Disorders), Rachel Pittmann (Assistant Dean of Interprofessional Practice, Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice), and Kim Truong (Chief Equity Officer) each received $25.

The event, hosted by IT manager Greg Moore, has been a tradition for about six years at the MGH Institute.

“I love the energy the IHP community brings to the event,” said Moore, who typically hosts trivia competitions for his team on Friday afternoons. “It's always a fun group and a nice chance to hang out outside our day-to-day work.”
