One of the newest student organizations at the MGH Institute is in the midst of its first fundraising project, and there is still time for you to donate. The Institute’s Chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) is working to make an impact on the lives of Boston Public School students with hearing loss by raising funds to purchase books that explain hearing loss, hearing devices, and effective communication strategies to peers and teachers of children with hearing loss.

“Many of us in the AuD program interact frequently with these children in our local school “, said student Marissa Gallan, “so this fundraiser is special to us.”

SAA's mission is to promote and advance audiology and the associated services, information, education, representation, and advocacy for the profession and public. The fundraiser will help students throughout the Boston Public School system, which includes students at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, an entity that moved to Charlestown in September.

Donations can be made through this link  through November 1, 2024. Each dollar donated will generate an entry into a drawing to win a gift card to the Dovetail Restaurant, located in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Donors should include an email address when sending the Venmo so the winner can be contacted by November 15.
