Second-year Entry-Level Occupational Therapy students showcased their work last week with a mock conference poster session to an audience of peers and invited faculty and staff,
"The opportunity helps build skills for their doctoral capstone work when they need to present their final projects as posters during OT Scholarship Day," said Midge Hobbs, assistant dean for interprofessional education.
The presentations were part of their Foundations in Teaching and Learning class where Hobbs teaches students how to develop and implement educational material or experience for clients, colleagues, and students. The students then get the opportunity to apply this knowledge in their Health Promotions course by creating and implementing wellness sessions for seniors in the community.
