Health Professions Education student Jasline Moreno, MSN, RN, CHSE-Advanced, CNE, has received the Barbara Tate Scholarship from Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) for the second time.

A faculty lead for the Maryland Clinical Simulation Resource Consortium (MCSRC), Moreno is pursuing her PhD with a specialization in leadership and simulation. She also holds a chair position in the membership committee of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), where she actively engages in the advancement of clinical simulation in nursing education.

“I am extremely grateful and honored to be a second-time recipient of the Barbara Tate Scholarship,” said Moreno, who is confident that her research will make significant contributions to the scientific nursing community.  “This prestigious scholarship, named in honor of Barbara Tate's dedication to advancing nursing education, is awarded to individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to the nursing profession. Being selected again is not only a reaffirmation of my commitment to pursuing excellence in nursing education but also a significant source of support as I continue my PhD studies.”

NEF said Moreno’s dedication to advancing simulation education, involvement in professional organizations, and commitment to scholarly research demonstrate her passion and contribution to the nursing field.

“This is a testament to the kind of student Jasline is, and how she has applied what she has learned in our PhD program in Health Professions Education,” said Roger Edwards, Professor and Chair of the Health Professions Education Department. “Affirmation of Jasline's dedication to high quality scholarship to address critical needs in simulation-based education research is gratifying. We will all benefit as the outcomes of her research inform how we educate and implement subsequent research."
