Last week, 30 students attended a Valentine’s Day card-making event hosted by the MGH Institute’s Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD). The cards were sent to an LGBTQ+ youth group in Boston called BAGLY (The Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth) and Spaulding Outpatient Center, Brighton.
COTAD runs events like this to engage students while supporting vulnerable populations.
“COTAD is always looking to connect with the community and bring occupational justice to life,” said Hope Hilsenrath, who led the event. “We are definitely hoping to maintain relationships with the affiliated organizations and have future events either with them or for them.”
