MGH Institute staff gathered outside of 1CW on Tuesday for “Cookies and Kudos,” an IHP staff celebration event run by the Staff Council.

"One of the goals of Staff Council is to help foster a sense of community among IHP staff and help them get to know one another,” explains Staff Council Chair Rachel Renaux. “In our Fall Staff Pulse-Check Survey, ‘food truck’ was voted the number one activity, so we used part of our budget to bring a food truck to campus. We also took this opportunity to celebrate staff and recognize them for all they do day-to-day to keep the IHP running."

The Cookie Monstah food truck came with a special menu just for IHP staff. Staff could choose from four different ice cream sandwich options: The Salty Celebration, The Coffee Break, The IHP Staff Stack, and The Mint-stitute.

The fun didn’t stop there. Inside the conference room was a plethora of games such as Nintendo Switch, Jackbox, board games, and card games with prizes for the winners. Staff Council Chair-Elect M Meyer helped to coordinate the games along with Greg Moore, Jorge Sanchez De Lozada, and the rest of the Information Technology team. Staff could also read written “kudos” notes about each department that were hung up, each highlighting accomplishments made and showing appreciation to employees.

Administrative Assistant Dana Fry, who recently joined the Institute, appreciated the opportunity to mingle with staff during the event.

“The Cookies and Kudos event was my first ever staff event – and what a delicious one to start with!” said Fry. “Being new to the IHP, I loved the Kudos notes that Rachel put up for everyone to see – it felt like a great way to see what everyone was proud of, and to get to know the departments a little better.”
