No one was sitting still during an event in 1CW last Friday. Dr. Rebecca Pham, an instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy, led about two dozen students, faculty, and staff in a cardio and dance-based movement class.
Pham organized the Rooted in Movement event to create an activity where people could connect with each other and themselves.
“At the event, I shared with participants that dance and movement bring me immense joy — especially during difficult and challenging times,” said Pham. “In moments when it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or disconnected, finding opportunities to come together in community, particularly through movement, is deeply grounding.
“The title of the event, Rooted in Movement, is a call to anchor ourselves more deeply in our values and in who we are as a collective. It was a reminder that joy, movement, and community are powerful forces for healing and commitment to our work as current and future healthcare providers.”
