Abbey McCracken, a student in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, is the recipient of the $5,000 Joyce L. Wolf Scholarship from the Foundation for Nursing Advancement in Massachusetts.

“Nursing has proven itself to be the perfect intersection of a lifelong interest in healthcare and my inherently creative nature,” she said. “I chose nursing because I love getting to learn about people from all walks of life and find new and exciting ways to provide them with holistic care.

McCracken, who received the award March 29 at the group’s scholarship gala, will graduate in the September cohort of the BSN program.

“With the start of my career just around the corner, I hope to begin my career working with neonates or pediatrics,” she said. “I also eventually would love to be a clinical instructor down the road and am interested in some day furthering my career in either nursing education or as a certified nurse midwife.”

“There was an impressive candidate pool for this year’s scholarship applications, and you should be very proud that you were selected,” said Carmela A. Daniello, the foundation’s executive director.
